Is Reconstructing An Auto Accident Necessary?

In most auto accident scenarios there is always a degree of certainty of who or what caused the fault. And perhaps, a police report was generated that explained the accident in detail and the state of well being of the individuals involved in the mishap.

But what happens when there is no clear cut evidence of how the accident occurred? Or the story of how the accident transpired sounds odd or not truthful or lacks any meaningful facts that supported the case, what then?

When there is not a preponderance of truth then we need to find that truth in order to support our client and get them the necessary compensation for the injuries sustained in an auto accident. That requires hiring accident reconstruction experts who specialize in traffic, engineering, physics as well as understanding the scene evidence. These experts are sometimes referred to as “Forensic Engineers”.

These accident reconstruction experts examine all the data in reverse. Sort of like watching a movie backwards. They start with the wreckage and work backwards to a time before the accident happened. This process allows the forensic engineers to determine the exact cause of the collision, the time of impact and any relevant facts that lead up to the accident.

It’s those facts that can determine the outcome of a case. However, reconstructing an auto accident isn’t quick nor is it cheap. The length of time to thoroughly reconstruct an auto accident varies by the complexity and can take anywhere from a few hours to a few months. And as much as we would love to offer auto accident reconstruction to every client who walks in our door, it isn’t always necessary.

An auto accident can change the course of a person’s life in a split second. An injury can have a far reaching impact on an entire family if a family member is unable to work, if hospital or home nursing care is required, or if the injured person’s ability to contribute to the operation of the household is altered. We offer over thirty years of service to people who are dealing with the consequences of brain injuries, head trauma, back pain and back injuries, internal organ injuries, neck injuries (sometimes called whiplash injuries), broken bones, paralysis, fractures, tears, numbness, nerve pain, concussions, burns, disfigurement and scarring, and permanent disability and impaired ability to work.

We are committed to providing high quality legal service which includes an uncompromising pursuit of our client’s legal interests, while being accessible and attentive to our clients during times of personal challenge. We understand that auto accidents also bring emotional stress over how to pay medical bills and replace damaged property. We are devoted to serving our clients by assisting them in dealing with their auto insurance company, their health insurance carrier, and the other driver’s insurance company. If a prompt settlement cannot be negotiated we promptly file suit to recover compensation for not only physical and emotional injuries, but medical bills, lost wages, and property damage.
